Mathematics and Applications of Branes in String and M-theory

We review the construction of supergravity solutions in six dimensional supergravity which are preserve half the super symmetries of the AdS3 x S3 vacuum and give a realization of 2 dimensional interface CFTs of the Janus type. By relaxing the regularity conditions we enlarge the space of solutions to include two new half-BPS configurations, which we refer to as the cap and funnel. We present evidence that solutions which include caps can be used to give a holographic realization of boundary CFTs.
