Classification of Algebraic VarietiesAdd to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Adrian Dawid. We present the birational classification of complex algebraic varieties, namely their division into fibrations of canonically polarized, Calabi-Yau, and Fano varieties. We then give a brief introduction to moduli theory and describe some applications to elliptic fibrations and moduli spaces of curves. If time permits, we will apply this theory to derive the Enriques-Kodaira classification of algebraic surfaces. This talk is part of the Junior Geometry Seminar series.
