If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. QIA - Quantum information, quantum groups and operator algebras Quantum Information is at a moment in time when a number of startups, or more established companies, are directly hiring researchers to work on research problems. This session will explore how transferring to industry from academic might work, and also what traditional, or not so traditional, academic careers might look like. We plan a panel discussion with a variety of programme participants, each of whom has a slightly different path in academia, together with a researcher now working in industry. We hope audience members will bring questions! A second informal session will pool collective knowledge about postdoc opportunities from programme participants. In particular, comparing European and North American systems; again this will be question driven. Informal discussions will continue over lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided from 10:30, with lunch in the INI foyer at 13:00. Panel Members: Matthew Daws (Lancaster University) Laura Mancinska (Københavns Universitet) Ivan Todorov (University of Delaware) Nathan Fitzpatrick (Quantinuum) This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
