The aim of the project is to investigate some invariants of totally disconnected locally compact groups in the case the group has a sufficiently transitive action on a locally finite building. In the talk, we discuss how the rational discrete cohomological dimension and the number of ends are related to the analogue invariants of the Weyl group of the building.
