CATW04 - Complex analysis: techniques, applications and computations - perspectives in 2023 Kruskal was the first to propose the study of the dynamics of the poles of the soliton solutions of the KdV equation to understand the nature of their interaction. Initial work by Thickstun and Airault, McKean & Moser led to developments in very different directions and the birth of a new area of study in integrability. I will discuss a few new developments on the pole dynamics for both the KdV and the NLS equation. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
