OASW05 - OAS Follow on: Operator Algebras: Subfactors and Applications We will discuss the construction of new examples of irreducible, hyperfinite subfactors with infinite representation theory and ``interesting’’ Jones indices. This involves commuting squares, planar algebras and a few tricks that allow us to avoid solving large systems of linear equations to compute standard invariants (joint work with Julio Caceres). If there is time, we will explain an invariant for subfactors not captured by its planar algebra and show some applications. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
