If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. MMVW01 - Summer School on Mathematics of Movement We present results of modelling collective ant behaviour as an interacting active particle system. We show stability analysis, time-dependent simulations of the large particle/mean field limit PDE and time-indepedent simulations for stationary solutions. We show that there is a phase transition between spots and lanes, depending on the speeds of the particles and the sensitivity towards the pheromone field through which the particles interact.
