If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. MWSW05 - Winter School I take `multiple scattering’ to mean problems in which waves interact with two or more objects. The prototypical problem is: solve the Helmholtz equation (acoustics, sound waves of a single frequency) outside two objects, with a boundary condition on each object and at infinity (radiation condition). I will discuss formulation of boundary value problems and methods for solving them: there are exact methods (in principle, at least) and approximate methods (such as Foldy’s method).
