Diffeomorphism groups of manifolds are interesting, yet complicated invariants of manifolds. In this talk, I will explain a result of Oscar Randal-Williams and Galatius, which identifies the stabilisation of BDiff(Wg,1,D^d) (where W_g,1 is the genus g 2n-dimensional manifold) and an infinite loop space.
