5G is coming and is currently being deployed worldwide. Operators are rolling out 5G networks with targeted broader availability by the end of 2021. However, 5G is still stimulating a lot of discussion about the technology and its new enabled applications and use cases. 5G is designed to support applications demanding high throughput, very high reliability and ultra-low latency. Unlike 4G LTE , 5G doesn’t only focus on connecting people but goes beyond that to connect everyone and everything and expanding into new use cases like massive IoT, mission critical communication and AR/VR. Mediatek is driving the 5G innovation and is playing a major role in defining the 5G specification and is at the forefront of powering 5G with its advanced 5G chip and modem technology. In this talk, we will give you a new perspective and will share with you an overview about the 5G use cases beyond mobile broadband including AR/VR, Cloud gaming, V2X , Non-Terrestrial Network, URLLC /IIoT and NR-Light. We will give you a new sense about what the 5G technology is promising.
