Interpretations, an Introduction

In this lecture, I introduce the notion of interpretation. I will provide a number of motivating examples of interpretations.

I will discuss categories of interpretations and show how they can be used to define notions of sameness of theories. I discuss the pros and cons of the various notions of sameness and prove some basic theorems.
