If you have a question about this talk, please contact Nils Prigge. A smooth manifold admits many different Riemannian structures. It is reasonable to ask if one of these could be considered distinguished or best? This is no idle question as the moduli space of Riemannian structures in general is infinite dimensional. In this talk we will explore this question and possible answers. While we do not have an affirmative answer in general, then we can identify a family of distinguished structures for which the moduli space is in fact finite dimensional.
