Coupling Geometric PDEs with Physics for Cell Morphology, Motility and Pattern Formation We consider the space-time dynamics given by a genetic regulatory network for the cell fate determination during flower development. Starting with experimental data, we construct a dynamical system that recovers wild type as well as mutant phenotypes. We extend this to a reaction-diffusion system that provides a model that accounts for the spatial architecture of the flower. We discuss how this approach can be generalised to other systems in developmental biology and also comment on open questions, both biological and mathematical.
