Coupling Geometric PDEs with Physics for Cell Morphology, Motility and Pattern Formation This talk will explain results from models on scar tissue formation and fibroblast populated collagen lattice contraction. The first set of models focus on the biochemical remodeling of the wound environment. The extracellular matrix is treated as a continuum, the cells are modeled as discrete objects, and the interactions between the two are investigated to better understand scar tissue formation. In the second set of models, mechanical forces are the focus to better understand wound contraction. Both the cells and the collagen lattice are modeled as discrete structures in the fibroblast populated collagen lattice models. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
