The British Government launched an ambitious programme in 2012 to go Digital by Default.

It is world leading. The UK founded the D5 All 766 citizen interactions with the State are being re-built using agile (discover, design, deliver) from end to end. The first 25 exemplar projects are nearly complete

Typical savings and headcount reductions are 50-75% In-house engineering and operations capability is being rebuilt. Projects are being disaggregated. Architecture is Cloud First. SMEs are supplying 48% of the work by value.

1800 suppliers on the G Cloud Digital Marketplace are being used Growth is strong

All in-house projects are made open source.

This is a revolution !!
