As the inventor of a new class of metamaterials, Sir John Pendry has brought the invisibility cloak to life (or rather the Muggle world). He won the 2013 Isaac Newton Medal for his seminal contributions to surface science and photonics, and had previously been honoured with the Dirac Prize and Royal Medal.
Everyone is welcome. Free for members, £2 on the door for non-members. Followed by refreshments (that means smoothies, cheese and grapes!).
