In this talk we will discuss some of the background and motivation for studying the Dirichlet-Neumann map (henceforth DtN) for a given domain in R2. Further, we will discuss a new spectral-based method for analyzing the DtN map. The talk will begin by discussing some results that have already been established for convex polygons in R2, then we will move on to discussing more current work where analogous results are being proved for smooth domains.
