In this talk, I will introduce some concepts of derived deformation theory and consider the key examples of deforming schemes and their derived ($\infty$-)categories. I’ll then explain some original results concerning the relationship between deforming these objects, with a focus on mixed characteristic phenomena. No higher category theory knowledge assumed
