DNMW06 - Recent challenges in the mathematical design of new materials

A mathematical setting that links the mechanics of engineering plasticity to dislocation mechanics will be described. Critical experimental and theoretical validations of the theory will be discussed. This is joint work with Rajat Arora, Abhishek Arora, and Xiaohan Zhang.
