TGA - Topological groupoids and their C*-algebras

We will present several examples of groups arising from actions on trees and buildings, both well known and new ones. The structure of the underlying space is used to analyse the C*-algebras associated to the actions.  The talk is based on joint results with Ben Steinberg, Eusebio Gardella, Nadia Larsen, Mark Lawson and Volodymyr Nekrashevich. This seminar will take place at Queen’s University Belfast, in MAPTC room 0G.017.

This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
