TGA - Topological groupoids and their C*-algebras We will present several examples of groups arising from actions on trees and buildings, both well known and new ones. The structure of the underlying space is used to analyse the C*-algebras associated to the actions. The talk is based on joint results with Ben Steinberg, Eusebio Gardella, Nadia Larsen, Mark Lawson and Volodymyr Nekrashevich.
