TGAW02 - C*-algebras: classification and dynamical constructions Non-Hausdorff étale groupoids arise naturally in many contexts, however, key tools used in the study of their Hausdorff counterparts are not always applicable. This talk looks at a Hausdorff cover introduced by Timmermann, and describes how it can be used to avoid certain technical difficulties encountered in the study of non-Hausdorff étale groupoids and their C*-algebras. In particular, the Hausdorff cover yields characterisations of amenability, as well as triviality of the singular ideal in certain cases. This is based on joint work with K. A. Brix, J. B.
