NPCW06 - Non-positive curvature and applications In the context of finite von Neumann algebras, we define soficity and stability in permutations for groups. We demonstrate the influence of amenability theorems from von Neumann algebras on these notions. Additionally, we present some examples where negative curvature techniques answer questions that arise within this framework. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
