EHTW03 - New horizons for equivariance in homotopy theory I will introduce equivariantly enriched enumerative geometry, which seeks to use equivariant homotopy theory to enrich classical enumerative results under the presence of a finite group action. This talk will cover a high-level overview, joint work with Kirsten Wickelgren defining a local degree in stable equivariant homotopy theory, and an application to counting rational curves equivariantly. Time permitting, I will discuss joint work in progress with a number of people (Kirsten Wickelgren, Stephen McKean, and Charanya Ravi) on more examples of equivariant enumerative results. This talk will not assume prior knowledge of classical enumerative geometry. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series. This talk is included in these lists:
