QIAW02 - New trends at the intersection of quantum information theory, quantum groups and operator algebras Similar to phase transitions, some properties of entanglement only sharply emerge in systems with infinitely many degrees of freedom. I will present recent results providing operational distinctions between various forms of infinite entanglement across quantum information theory, quantum many-body physics, and quantum field theory. The different ways of being infinitely entangled are in one-to-one correspondence with the algebraic type of the von Neumann algebras describing the local systems. I will give an outlook on open problems regarding, in particular, the relation between phases of matter and the large-scale structure of entanglement.This is joint work with Alexander Stottmeister, Henrik Wilming and Reinhard F.
