This seminar explores the auxiliary aspects beyond model selection that are critical to achieving robust forecasting. Through the lens of sports event prediction and its application in betting markets, we explore the steps of feature engineering, evaluation, overfitting prevention, and optimal staking strategies. Additionally, we address considerations surrounding market liquidity and efficiency.
