In this talk, we will discuss subgroups of right-angled Artin groups and more precisely how the finiteness properties of the subgroup determine a tame structure and good algorithmic behaviour. More concretely, we will present a generalisation of Schreier’s theorem to finitely generated normal subgroups of RAA Gs and use it to study subdirect products of (the direct product of) RAA Gs.
