If you have a question about this talk, please contact Siao Chi Mok. Gedrich and Gruenberg introduced two homological invariants for a ring $R$, the supremum of the injective lengths of the projectives, silp R, and the supremum of the projective lengths of the injectives, spli R. For a suitable commutative ring $R$ and group $G$, they showed if spli RG is finite, then silp RG is also finite. I will discuss ongoing research that aims to extend these and related results for totally disconnected locally compact groups through rational discrete cohomology.
