MIPW01 - Modelling and inference for pandemic preparedness - a focussed workshop

In this talk I will reflect on global estimates of transmission intensity and short-term forecasts during the COVID -19 pandemic that we created and put on a daily updated public dashboard. I will present challenges we encountered in creating and maintaining this resource, as well as impacts that it had on our and others’ work as well as policy. I will use this to discuss implications for ongoing and future efforts to improve modelling in response to outbreaks and pandemics.
