An introduction to hydrodynamic limits of interacting particle systems

The theory of hydrodynamic limits allows one to rigorously derive partial differential equations as a many-particle limit of an underlying stochastic Markov process. In this talk I will present the basic concepts of the theory and show my own work regarding to the derivation of PDEs that exhibit chemotaxis-like behaviour.
