SPLW02 - Active mechanics, from single cells to cell layers, tissues and development Bulbul Chakraborty, Kanaya Malakar: Activity-Driven Memory and Plasticity of Networks In this talk, I will explore the effects of driving due to internal force dipoles on spring networks. I will show that different types of nonlinearities in the springs can lead to hysteresis and plasticity, very much akin to amorphous solids subjected to external quasistatic shearing.
