MMVW03 - Measures and Representations of Interactions

In this talk will cover a randomization method I’ve suggested a few years ago to establish a null model for observed encounters in spatial proximity social networks (Spiegel et al 2016 Method Ecol Evol). Then, some applications of this approach to real-life animal systems (Spiegel et al 2018 Anim Behav). And also a few recent attempts to infer the context of different interaction types and their relative contribution to the overall social structure (Sharma et al 2022 Ecol& Evol; Webber et al 2023 Biol Reviews)

This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
