OASW05 - OAS Follow on: Operator Algebras: Subfactors and Applications Given a unitary fusion category, its Drinfeld center is a modular tensor category. Modular tensor categories have associated numerical invariants called modular data. Modular data capture a great deal of information about the structure of the category, and on the other hand are subject to strong combinatorial constraints. Evans and Gannon proposed using the existence of potential modular data to predict the existence of certain types of fusion categories. In this talk, I’ll report on some work-in-progress with Izumi on verifying certain variants of the Evans-Gannon conjectures; in particular, we find (numerical, so far) evidence of the existence of new fusion categories which realize certain modular data discovered in previous joint work.
