HY2W02 - Analysis of dispersive systems

This talk will show that provided the curvature of initial conditions is sufficiently small ( 3u’’ < 1 ) then the reduced Ostrovsky equation maps one-one to an integrable equation. For larger curvatures the solution breaks at finite time.  It will also be shown that periodic solutions are orbitally stable.
