GFDW01 - Mathematics of geophysical fluid dynamic models of intermediate complexity: qualitative and statistical behaviour The talk will address two EB models with memory arising in climate dynamics consisting of a 1D degenerate parabolic equation involving a memory term and a reaction term of Budyko/Sellers type, in the usual terminology). Beside discussing existence and regularity of solutions, we will provide uniqueness and stability estimates that can be used to reconstruct the insolation function in Sellers’ model with memory. We will also briefly discuss ongoing relatedresearch concerning a two-layer EB model. These results are cointained in joint works with M. Malfitana, P. Martinez, J. Vancostenoble, and C. Urbani.
