GRA2 - Groups, representations and applications: new perspectives Localities are group-like structures which are closely related to fusion systems and the theory of their classifying spaces. The concept was introduced by Andrew Chermak. I will give a gentle introduction to the theory with some motivating examples. Moreover I will survey some recent results.
