KAH2 - K-theory, algebraic cycles and motivic homotopy theory The Kodaira-Spencer isomorphism for a modular curve relates its cotangent bundle to that of the universal elliptic curve over it. I’ll explain a perspective that yields a description of dualizing sheaves for integral models in certain situations of bad reduction. The resulting Kodaira-Spencer isomorphism generalizes (at least) to the setting of Hilbert modular varieties, with applications to the construction and integrality properties of Hecke operators.
