If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. FD2W03 - Optimal control and fractional dynamics Fractional-order PID controllers are an extension of standard PID controllers, which are the most employed feedback controllers in industry. Different design methodologies will be presented, providing the performance improvement that can be achieved by exploiting fractional-order integral and derivative actions. The fragility of the controller is also discussed. Finally, the generalized isodamping methodology will be explained and experimental results obtained in the temperature control of a solar furnace will be shown.
