TURW04 - Wall-bounded turbulence: beyond current boundaries Controlling turbulence is an objective with many technical applications and potential benefits. Despite a great interest in its realization, many classical approaches that showed promise at moderate Reynolds numbers failed to scale to the turbulent regime. We will discuss two distinct techniques that could be implemented in turbulent flows: the first (more experimental) approach is based on system identification and feed-forward control, the second (more theoretical) approach is based on a transfer-operator description of the flow combined with model-predictive control.
