CARW03 - Interdisciplinary applications of cluster algebras

My joint work with Hacking, Keel and Kontsevich introduced scattering diagrams into the theory of cluster algebras. I will give a brief survey explaining the origins of scattering diagrams in mirror symmetry and their enumerative meaning.
