Everybody is talking about self driving cars, autonomous robots and driverless flying taxis. However, before a vehicle can make a decision about stopping, slowing down or taking a turn it has to have access to at least two points of information:
  • What kind of landmarks are in its surrounding
  • What is its relative position to these landmarks We already encountered a method called (Graph-)SLAM (Simultaneous localization and mapping) in different contexts (Customer Project, Hardware-Hacking, Hackathons) and want to give an insight into the formulation of the problem and its solution.
