A longstanding problem in holography is the reconstruction of the entropy of black holes via a field theory calculation. Recently, much progress has been made in the context of supersymmetric black holes in AdS_5 and the superconformal index of N=4 SU(N) Super Yang-Mills. In a soon to be published work with Ofer Aharony, Francesco Benini, and Paolo Milan we analyze the index in the Bethe Ansatz approach, expressing it as a sum. We then find that in the large N limit each term in the sum can be identified with the contribution of a different (complex) supersymmetric black hole solution, and reproduce some of its perturbative and non-perturbative contribution. The non-perturbative terms introduce a stability condition that explains why certain bulk solutions satisfy the same boundary conditions, but do not appear in the index.
