If you have a question about this talk, please contact Ben Karniely. 5G is coming and is currently being deployed worldwide. Operators are rolling out 5G networks with targeted broader availability by the end of 2021. However, 5G is still stimulating a lot of discussion about the technology and its new enabled applications and use cases. 5G is designed to support applications demanding high throughput, very high reliability and ultra-low latency. Unlike 4G LTE , 5G doesn’t only focus on connecting people but goes beyond that to connect everyone and everything and expanding into new use cases like massive IoT, mission critical communication and AR/VR. Mediatek is driving the 5G innovation and is playing a major role in defining the 5G specification and is at the forefront of powering 5G with its advanced 5G chip and modem technology. In this talk, we will give you a new perspective and will share with you an overview about the 5G use cases beyond mobile broadband including AR/VR, Cloud gaming, V2X , Non-Terrestrial Network, URLLC /IIoT and NR-Light. We will give you a new sense about what the 5G technology is promising. This talk is part of the Technical Talks - Department of Computer Science and Technology series.
