If you have a question about this talk, please contact INI IT. GCSW02 - Structure preservation and general relativity I will give a brief overview of the some of the challenges in computational solution of the Einstein field equations.I will then describe the background error subtraction technique, designed to allow for more computationally efficient solution of scenarios where a significant portion of the domain is close to a know, exact solution. To demonstrate, I will discuss application to tidal disruption of a star by a supermassive black hole, and studies of black hole superradiance.
