If you have a question about this talk, please contact INI IT. GCS - Geometry, compatibility and structure preservation in computational differential equations The Vlasov-Poisson Fokker-Planck system is a kinetic description of Brownian motion for a large number of particles in a surrounding bath. In solving this system, the contact structure is investigated. This motivates the study for the contact system and the construction of corresponding numerical methods. This talk will introduce the contact system and the construction of numerical methods based on generating function and variational principle.
