If you have a question about this talk, please contact Anne Herrmann. The dynamics of behaviours exhibited by living organisms, such as tactic (taxes) and tropic (tropisms) behaviours, depend primarily on the time-scales of the biomechanical and biochemical subprocesses which constitute them. In this talk, I will discuss the model I have developed to describe the dynamics of phototactic reorientation—towards a light stimulus—in the biflagellated alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and its parameter phase space as a function of the time-scales of its molecular subcomponent processes.
