If you have a question about this talk, please contact Johannes Bausch. As quantum computers scale up, their potential applications has been of great interest in recent years. In particular, realization of quantum computers in near-term quantum devices have been a subject of intense interest. Variational quantum algorithms, which combines the advantage of both classical and quantum computers, have emerged as a new paradigm. In this talk I aim at introducing some of our recent results in variational algorithms, focusing on quantum chemistry, quantum error correction and quantum machine learning applications.
