If you have a question about this talk, please contact Alexander Mitov. Accurate and robust theoretical predictions are essential in order to perform a reliable interpretation of measurements at the LHC . A major theoretical tool to provide such predictions is perturbative QCD . In this seminar, the subtraction scheme STRIPPER is presented: A fully general framework to perform calculations at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD . After the basic idea of the scheme has been sketched, its implementation into a Monte Carlo event generator is outlined. A first application to top-quark pair production at the LHC is discussed and results for differential distributions at NNLO are presented. This talk is part of the Cavendish HEP Seminars series.
