This project seeks to identify MYB transcription factors involved in air chamber development in Marchantia polymorpha (Marchantia). Identification of these genes will enable the study of the gene-regulatory networks that initiate morphogenetic processes such as air pore and air chamber formation and allow rewiring of these processes in detail. I will talk recent advances of my project, including strategies for mapping myb gene expression and implementation of Cas9/CRISPR genome editing in Marchantia.
