Come and join us for a guided tour of this fascinating museum, which is based in the amazingly well preserved Victorian sewage pumping station. This triumph of Victorian engineering and design also exhibits an impressive approach to energy efficiency; the steam engines were fuelled by local domestic waste. Testament to its success is that it was still running in 1968.
The Museum’s objective is to preserve the industrial heritage of Cambridge. It has a wonderful collection including some of the oldest functional steam engines in the world and a printing press.
