Autistic people are still facing challenges accessing essential services despite rising rates of autism diagnosis in recent years. To better understand the experiences of autistic people in Europe when attempting to access services, we conducted the Access to Services in Europe (ACCESS-EU) survey in 2020-2022. The study investigated whether autistic people of all ages in Europe had or had not been successful in accessing a variety of services, including mental health and financial services, and the quality of services acquired. In this talk, results on how well autistic people could access services in Europe as well as reasons perceived to underlie their unsuccessful access to services will be presented.
